Research Symposium: War, Conflict and the City
8 Oct 2023
The symposium is organized in honor of the exhibition Refresh Amsterdam #2: War & Conflict and the launch of the new online peer reviewed research platform the Amsterdam Museum Journal.
In the symposium we dive into the shared themes of war and conflict. Researchers and creative makers, who have all been a part of the inaugural edition of the Amsterdam Museum Journal and the Refresh Amsterdam #2 exhibition, will discuss the relationship between urban spaces and war and conflict.
The symposium consists of short lectures (see program below) and a panel discussion, all of which will touch upon questions such as: What is the influence of international situations of war and conflict on the city? And how do people with a migration background experience their surroundings and living situation?
