About the Pianola Museum
The Pianola is a small museum located in the Jordaan, with a unique collection of self-playing pianos, music rolls, related instruments and documentation materials. This collection was brought together by connoisseurs and collectors Theo de Boer and Kasper Janse, who expanded their collection together beginning in 1970. In the fourth edition of Collecting the City at the Amsterdam Museum, the Pianola Museum is given the space to share their story with Amsterdam. Visitors dive into the history of the pianola and discover its historical connection to the city.
