The Willet-Holthuysen HouseOur program
Tulp Festival Amsterdam blossoms each year in the capital for the whole month of April. Hundreds of thousands of tulips brighten the springtime streets of the city.
Historical tulips in a historical garden
Once a year in April, the garden of the 17th-century Willet-Holthuysen House is blooming with, among others, historic tulips. Tulips that actually come from the time of the Willet-Holthuysen couple.
Mini-expo: Under the Tulip's Spell
As part of the 10th anniversary of Tulp Festival, a mini-expo has been created in Studio Panorama at Amsterdam Museum at the Amstel: Under the Tulip's Spell. The rare Tulip Book will be on display. Learn more.

On Wednesday April 17, we celebrate that the tulips are in bloom! We will do this with a tour through the mini-expo, a unique musical performance and a visit to the historic garden of Huis Willet-Holthuysen with garden designer Saskia Albrecht. Language: Dutch.
Tulp Festival Huis Willet-Holthuysen
Historical tulips
The early eighteenth-century garden designs of French architect Daniel Marot served as inspiration for the current garden. The graceful symmetrical patterns and trimmed hedges and trees allude to the Baroque gardens for canal houses. Today it is one of the few formal gardens in downtown Amsterdam. The flowering period is from beginning/mid-April to mid-May.
Again this year, historical tulips from the Willet-Holthuysen era can be seen: 'Bleu Aimable' (1906) fragrant blue, 'Princess Elisabeth' (1898) red/white flamed, 'Isulinde' (1915) purple/white flamed, 'Je maintiendrai' (1863) pink with yellow border, 'Simon Bolivar' (1880) orange and 'Duchesse de Parma' (1820) red with yellow.
During Tulp Festival in April, you get 50% off your admission ticket for the entire house including the garden. Use the promo code Tulp24. The promo code is valid in April only.
