In her work, she focuses on long-term projects that address the social issues, political conflicts, and collective memory of Turkey. Tufan is particularly interested in the plight of Kurdish people in Turkey, the problems and conflicts of Kurds in Syria, and the narratives surrounding the Kurdish diaspora. She captures these frequently untold stories in documentary films, photographic series, or a combination of both. Tufan studied Film Design & Directory at the Dokuz Eylül University in Turkey.
