Kristina Benjocki (Zrenjanin, Yugoslavia, 1984) investigates the political mechanisms of forgetting and remembering in the context of Eastern European history, through works based on film, audio, and textile—a history characterized by various forms of war and conflict.
In her work, Benjocki investigates how narratives come into being and how this process determines how we understand the past, regard the present, and imagine the future. Benjocki studied at the University of Arts in Belgrade, the Gerrit Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam, and the Royal Conservatoire The Hague.
