Vika Mitrichenko (Minsk, Belarus, 1972) is an artist who works with different materials, such as ceramic, clay, plaster, cement, and polyester.
The problematic relationship between objects and personal recollections is central to her work. By using pastiche, clashing styles, and a fusion of domestic kitsch and fragments of masterpieces from the history of art, Mitrichenko explores the paradoxical relationship between personal experiences and collective abstractions. Following her studies at the Academy of Arts in Minsk, she also studied in Amsterdam at the Gerrit Rietveld Academie and the Rijksakademie van beeldende kunsten.
