'Untiteled' by Raquel van Haver
Raquel van Haver's monumental group portrait shows activists, artists, students, historians and philosophers struggling against institutional racism. The work highlights various communities within the black community, such as the hip-hop and LGBTQI+ communities. It is the first in a series capturing personal stories of pro-black activists over a decade.
Who is Raquel van Haver?
Raquel van Haver (Bogotá, 1989) lives and works in Amsterdam. Her paintings explore similarities and differences between groups, inspired by her surroundings, both local and international. She uses various materials, including oil paint, charcoal, resin, hair, paper, tar and ash.
