Symposium: War, Conflict, and the City

    Kunstwerk auto

    8 okt 2023

The symposium is organized in honor of the exhibition Refresh Amsterdam #2: War & Conflict and the launch of the new online peer reviewed research platform the Amsterdam Museum Journal

In the symposium we dive into the shared themes of war and conflict. In the presence of participating artists and partner institutions of Refresh Amsterdam #2, and contributing authors to the first edition of the Amsterdam Museum Journal, we will discuss the relationship between urban spaces and war and conflict.

We will touch upon questions such as: What is the influence of international situations of war and conflict on the city, and on cultural practices? And how do people with a migration background experience their surroundings and living situation?
